To Cancel a Work Request

The Cancel command is available on the Actions menu and the Actions toolbar. A shortcut Actions menu can also be accessed by right-clicking a work request displayed in the My Work view and the Find dialog box (see Finding Work Requests). The specific function of the Cancel command will depend on the configuration of work request states and actions at each installation. Typically you must be connected to the GIS before canceling the work request and you must belong to a user group with this capability.

After a work request is canceled, it is displayed in the My Work view with an icon indicating its Canceled state. Removing the work request record permanently from the database requires the Delete operation.

  1. From the My Work view, select the work request that you want to cancel.
  2. From the Actions menu or toolbar, choose Cancel.
  3. Or right-click the work request and choose Cancel from the shortcut menu.
  4. To confirm the cancellation, click Yes. Note: Canceling a work request may delete any attached or associated designs if the Workflow Manager has been configured with this functionality. If you want to keep your design work, detach or disassociate the design before you cancel the work request.
  5. To remove the work request permanently from the My Work folder, choose Delete from the Edit menu or the Standard toolbar.
  6. Or right-click the canceled work request and choose Delete from the shortcut menu.
  7. To confirm the deletion, click Yes.
